Description: The tactical wargaming series for the VIC-20 now takes place in the trenches of World War I.

March 1918. Russia, in the midst of revolution and civil war has surrendered in the East. Now is the chance to break the stalemate on the Western Front. As a commander of the German Empire's army, your task will be to take on the French forces as you advance to the Marne river, and then onwards to Paris. Be aware, however, that with each successful victory, the Allied resources of the British and the Americans will be increasingly used against you.

Includes a two-player option. Instructions are included in the game program from the main menu and a PDF manual is included with the download.

Theater of War II: The Pacific

Description: In the sequel to the first WW2 Tactical Strategy game that takes place on the Eastern Front in Russia, this time you are transported to the Pacific Ocean where you command the Imperial Japanese Navy against the American forces.

The preamble states: "June 1942. Our Grand Imperial Navy is chasing the Yankee interlopers across the Pacific Ocean. We will attack a fatal blow at Midway and then hunt them into their havens". If you can defeat the the enemy through five levels of increasing difficulty, you will have achieved the ultimate victory.

There is also a two-player option. Instructions are included in the game program from the main menu.

Realms of Quest I: Anniversary Edition!

Hail adventurer! Welcome to the 20th anniversary edition of the original Realms of Quest I. Nearly 20 years to the day that the original was completed, here is a very special edition of the inaugural game of the CRPG franchise for the Commodore VIC-20. There are vast improvements:

-User-friendly instructions
-A unique name for each of the 36 magic spells
-Much better interface, display and text.

Realms of Quest II: Anniversary Edition

This month marks the 20th anniversary of Realms of Quest. It was in the Summer of 1991 that I embarked on making a computer role playing game for the Commodore VIC-20. I was successful in completing the first one, but I had given up in creating a sequel shortly afterwards. I did create about 20 monster portrait graphics pixel by pixel with a simple graphics program, however. In 2004, I programmed a "mini" version of Realms of Quest II intended for the Minigame Competition; minus the portrait graphics, because to use them would surpass the 4K limit that the competition required.

So twenty years after I had made the original Realms of Quest I, I decided to revamp the first two games. And so I took the portrait graphics I had made in 1992-93 and combined them with the Minigame version of Realms of Quest II. So finally after all these years, there is a fuller and more complete version of the middle of this CRPG series.

The terms "face" and "heel" originate from wrestling's carnival days in the nineteenth century. "Face" (short for babyface) means hero, while "heel" means villain. Instructions are included in a text file with the download as well as within the game loader screen.

It was in February of 2009 (this year) that I had announced that I would be making DUNJON III. After a couple of weeks, I decided that this project would instead become REALMS OF QUEST III.

I posted on the VIC-20 Denial forum what was on my mind at the time as I was making this game. There were some setbacks but it was always 3 steps forward with the occasional step back.

Again, a big kudos to saehn and darkatx (and of course, Kenz the publisher) for their magnificent art.

Would you believe that I originally conceived that it would take me 2 years to finish this project? At the time I started this, I only had a bare minimum knowledge of 6502 assembly language.

Realms of Quest III - to be published this month! (Oct. 2009)

I just received an email from Psytronik that this game will finally be published this month. I will be submitting a "Gold" zip file (which will contain the final versions of the PDF manual and D64 images) the day before the manuals, packaging and floppy disks are produced (October 18 or so).

What's really cool about this game package is that there will also be 20+ games that I made on side 2 of the floppy disk. Side 2 of the disk is entitled System IIII: The Complete Anthology (1988-2006).
